Had the privilege to watch a quality chef deal with major issues from Uber and junior chefs while waiting for my takeaway food. Came home with amazing food and loved the flavour. Kudos to the chef for getting my meal out (high standard) and dealing with so issues with complete professionalism. I will be back a lot. More

I don’t usually leave reviews. Kadmus has great menu, beautiful fresh well prepared food and the restaurant has nice vibe/well laid out. Ossama (owner/head chef) is genuinely warm/friendly, energetic and greatly appreciates Kadmus’ customers. Wishing Ossama, his Mrs and Kadmus much ongoing success! More

The customer service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We ordered a few entrees, warm and cold... our fav was the tabouli, probably one of the best we have had in a while. The other dishes were OK. The fries (handcut) were great the second time round :) More

Such a great experience. The food was wonderful and the service was great.
It’s probably the best Lebanese food I had in a long time. We had the babaganoush, fattoush, chicken skewers and the slow cook lamb with saffron rice. Everything melter in your mouth and the flavours were really amazing. Well balanced and rounded. The serving size was also really good. We had no room for desert but we will be back.

🍴Dinner at KADMUS Lebanese (Drummoyne, Sydney)
A long-standing Lebanese restaurant in Drummoyne serving generous portions and a variety of traditional dishes. Our experience across two visits was a bit mixed.
This is what we ordered:
- Kabys Pickle – assorted pickles of turnip, cucumber, green pepper, and olives. First visit was great, but second time tasted different and the olives were not the same quality.
- Toum – garlic paste dip and easily the best here. A must-order.
- Hommus – chickpea and sesame tahini dip. Quite salty compared to hommus I’ve had elsewhere.
- Baba Ganouj – grilled aubergine with sesame tahini. Smokey, with the eggplant flavour coming through nicely.
- Lebanese bread basket – complimentary. Comes with regular and crispy Lebanese bread.
- Aromatic turmeric rice – delicious fragrant turmeric and spices with lamb mince. Paired really well with the lamb dishes.
- Lamb en Brochette – grilled lamb tenderloin skewers with roasted veggies. Tasty and tender on our first visit, but the second one was quite tough.
- Shish Kafta – four skewers of minced lamb with herbs. Very different flavour profile from other kafta I’ve had; the spice mix wasn’t my favourite.
-Lamb shawarma – unfortunately too oily and lacked flavour. Would have been better as a classic style from the rotating grill.
⭐️ Overall
Ambience: 8/10
Hospitality: 5/10 – service felt inconsistent and inattentive
Food: 5/10 – hits and misses across the menu
Value: 5/10 – portion sizes are generous but quality doesn’t always match

Don’t be fooled by the good reviews. Had dinner for two here a couple nights ago and waited over 30min for our food. This would’ve been somewhat acceptable if the food had been up to standard considering the $90 bill at the end. The Babaganouj had no smokiness. The falafel was bland and the texture felt the same as frozen store bought ones. The chicken skewers were quite average. The only highlight was the Kibil and the crispy bread. The place is very unorganized and it took a while to even get an order in after being seated. We even saw a family get up and pay for their drinks and leave because it was taking so long. Not sure why this place is rated so high. There’s plenty of other Lebanese restaurants which much better food and service (cheaper too).

My family went to Kadmus multiple times. We love the family atmosphere, the coziness and the food. Last time it was yesterday for dinner. We ordered baba ganouj and toum with bread as an entree, falafel, turmeric rice, shish kafta and baked kibi for mains, and a beautiful kenafa for dessert. Our drinks were the lemonades both traditional and mint.
The favours were sensational, and the portions were generous.
There were
Only two downsides from my perspective: they don’t offer the trio of dips - baba ganouj, hommus and labneh - in small portions; they are my favourite Lebanese food, and ordering them separately can be costly and food to waste when we’re in a small group. The second downside is that you need to place the order in one go (except for the dessert), and sometimes, midway, we’ve had enough.
I’ve been there for quite some years now and the same family is cooking, what makes the tastes always perfect.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that they don’t open for lunch anymore, only for dinner from 4:30 PM onwards.
